What I Liked: If it wasn’t the first, The Blair White Project was the one that catapulted the found film horror genre to its apex. It changed the game forever. On such a low budget, it created a story of a documentary about a myth of a witch in the woods. It never lets on that it was actors. There were no big budget effects. The atmosphere is gritty. The camera work is real. The ending leaves you unsettled. It defines scary and art.

Verdict: As far as scares go, you won’t see much action, but fans must know their history. Watch it in the dark. Watch it in alone. And watch it away from windows prone to knocking tree branches. It’s currently free to watch on cable tv channels like TBS and TNT.
